Joël Robuchon, widely regarded as one of the greatest chefs of all time, left an indelible mark on the world of gastronomy. With 31 Michelin stars to his name, his culinary empire spanned the globe, setting the standard for excellence in fine dining. Now, his legacy continues at the newly opened Le Petit Café Robuchon in Rue du Portier, Monaco, where Porterium Magazine had the pleasure of tasting a menu that honors his world-renowned craftsmanship.
The meal began with a refined salad of aubergines, coriander, and Kalamata olives. Each ingredient was thoughtfully layered, balancing smoky aubergine with the brightness of fresh coriander, while the olives added a subtle saltiness, all presented with the elegance one expects from a Robuchon establishment. Next, the croque monsieur à la truffle elevated the traditional French sandwich to new heights, its truffle-infused béchamel sauce creating a luxurious and indulgent bite.
For the main course, the rigatoni with lobster in tomato sauce was a standout. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente, holding its texture against a rich, tangy tomato sauce, while the freshly caught lobster added a delicate sweetness and succulent richness to the dish.
Dessert was an experience unto itself. The tarte aux pommes was a classic, but with Robuchon's signature touch—crispy, buttery layers paired with house-made vanilla ice cream. The peaches Melba with almonds offered a fresh, nutty contrast, while the café latte with pistachios provided a smooth, creamy finish to an extraordinary meal.
The legacy of Joël Robuchon is alive and well in Monaco, where each dish serves as a testament to the vision and passion of a chef who revolutionized fine dining.
Le Deli Robuchon Monaco is now open, offering a curated selection of gourmet delicacies, and Le Café Robuchon Monaco will be opening soon. For those looking to experience Robuchon's renowned cuisine at private events, their exceptional catering services are also available.
