Events & Exhibition
June 10, 2024
The highly anticipated eighteenth edition of Design Miami/Basel is set to take place from June 10-16 at Messe Basel, bringing together over 25 exhibitors, including several debut galleries, under one roof. This year promises a diverse and vibrant showcase of both historical and contemporary collectible design.
Design Miami CEO Jen Roberts emphasizes the significance of this year's event following a global rebrand and the inaugural Los Angeles edition. “Last year marked a milestone in Design Miami’s evolution, and this year’s Basel fair continues that momentum,” she said.
A standout feature this year is a tribute to the late Italian design legend Gaetano Pesce, presented by Pulp Galerie, Friedman Benda, and downtown+. The installation in the entrance hall honors Pesce’s innovative and experimental career.

Historical design enthusiasts can look forward to rare exhibits from Paris-based galleries. Highlights include Galerie Mitterrand’s works by François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne, and Thomas Fritsch-ARTRIUM’s French ceramics by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Georges Jouve. LAFFANOUR-Galerie Downtown and Galerie Patrick Seguin will showcase 20th-century icons like Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand.

On the contemporary side, Spazio Nobile will present LUNISOLAR, while Galerie kreo will feature Konstantin Grcic’s TRANSFORMERS collection. Craft x Tech’s initiative, curated by Maria Cristina Didero, merges traditional Japanese craft with modern technology.
Design At Large will feature large-scale works like Rino Claessens’ Modular bench and Marie Piselli’s OUI CLOCK | AURORA digital piece, emphasizing shared experiences and emotions.
Design Miami/Basel is open to the public from June 11-16, with a special preview day on June 10. The fair promises an enriching experience for design enthusiasts and collectors alike. For more information and tickets, visit the Design Miami's website (https://designmiami.com/).
