Renowned fashion designer Vaishali Shadangule has unveiled her Fall-Winter 2024 Couture Collection, "Satori," during Paris Haute Couture Week. The collection was launched in collaboration with Indian jewellery giant Tanishq, with critically acclaimed actor Radhika Apte as the showstopper. The grand event was held at Solum, under the Pont Alexandre III, in the heart of Paris.
"Satori," inspired by Zen Buddhism, represents a profound realization of reality's true nature, symbolizing clarity and peace. Vaishali S’s collection masterfully integrates traditional Indian hand weaves with modern minimalism, creating designs that evoke simplicity, balance, and elegance. The muted color scheme features deep white, soft beige, and light grey, with accents of deep indigo, rich burgundy, and gold, reflecting enlightenment and spiritual richness.
The collection showcases luxurious natural silks and fine cottons, chosen for their purity and quality. The textures and flowing silhouettes suggest movement and freedom, paying homage to traditional Indian garments while maintaining a contemporary edge. Intricate handwork and subtle embellishments symbolize the fleeting yet profound nature of light, with patterns representing nature’s energy and the impermanence of life. Unique embellishments include Ta’wis (amulets), crafted from leftovers of previous collections and hand weaves from across India, symbolizing unity in diversity.
Tanishq's partnership enhances the garments with elegant jewellery from their "Enchanted Trails" collection, featuring rare diamond creations inspired by Indian flora and fauna. The designs signify the sunrise and sunshine, capturing nature's ever-changing landscape. The collection celebrates exceptional artistry and refined taste, weaving together nature’s harmony and balance.
Revathi Kant, Chief Design Officer at Titan Company Ltd., expressed pride in the collaboration, highlighting its celebration of craftsmanship and contemporary design. Vaishali Shadangule emphasized the mutual enhancement of their philosophies, merging couture and high jewellery to redefine luxury on a global scale.
